Bible Correspondence / Nursing Homes
Deacon : Don Adams
This ministry is responsible for advertising the bible correspondence courses and to organize people to grade and return the completed lessons as well as visiting local nursing homes.

Focus
Deacon : Mickey Barker
This ministry is responsible for organizing small groups within the congregation to meet for fellowship and handle work assignments. This ministry furnishes weekly assignments to these groups such as phone calls, cards to mailed, and visits.

Fellowship
Deacons : Chuck Barnett & Johnny Craft
This ministry organizes various fellowship meals including the 5th Sunday noon meal and the monthly Wednesday night meal.

Transportation
Deacon : Nathan Hubbard
This ministry is responsible for the maintenance of the church owned vehicle.

Advertising
Deacon : Mitch Taylor
This ministry is responsible for providing information and generating enthusiasm for the congregation as well as the community regarding special events.

Men-to-Serve
Deacon : Donnie Miller
This ministry organizes and oversees the various functions with regard to our worship services. This includes assigning people and making sure they are present to make announcements, lead prayers, read scripture, usher and lead singing. This ministry is also active in encouraging people to be active in these various public roles.

Children’s Activities
Deacon : Mark Noble
This ministry is responsible for planning and overseeing various activities for children under 6th grade and work with the Youth Minister on the Vacation Bible School program each summer.

Benevolence
Deacon : David Higgins
This ministry coordinates programs of assistance with children homes, and provides assistance to people, inside and outside of our church family.

Audio / Visual
Deacon : Joseph Keene
This ministry is responsible for handling all duties with regard to the audio/video systems for worship services and other events held at the church building.  This includes maintaining the system and furnishing staff to administer these systems and record worship services.  These duties also include updating the online audio archive and creating CDs upon request.

Education (Birth thru 6th Grade)
Deacon : Don Hutson
This ministry is responsible for coordinating teachers and teaching material in the younger age (Birth – 6th Grade).

Building / Grounds
Deacon : Jerry Nabors
This ministry is responsible for all general upkeep, repair and maintenance of our building and grounds.

Teen Youth Ministry
Deacons : Rick Kelly & Josh Warne
This ministry is in charge of youth activities and education in grades 7 thru 12.

College Ministry
Deacon : Steve Grinder
This ministry is in charge of college age activities and education.

Lads-to-Leaders / Leaderettes (L2L)
Deacons : Michael Shirley & Nathan Hubbard
This ministry promotes, organizes and oversees the Lads to Leaders/Leaderettes Program within the Great Oaks Congregation.

Missions / World Bible School
Deacon : Rhinard Troup
This ministry helps maintain contact with our missionaries. This ministry also provides the organization and oversight of the World Bible School program.

Missions Coordinator

This ministry maintains contact with our missionaries and helps to keep the congregation informed in this area.

Adult Education
Deacon : Michael Williams
This ministry is responsible for selecting teachers and planning the course of study for the adult classes.

Young Adults
Deacon : Rick Knox
This ministry assists in developing bible classes and arranging various events to provide opportunities for encouragement and establishing relationships with God and each other for the young professionals of our congregation.

Home Builders
Deacon : Jason Ward
This ministry assists in developing bible classes and arranging various events to provide opportunities for encouragement and establishing relationships with God and each other for the young families of our congregation.

New Converts
Deacon : Ryan McDaniel
This ministry is to inform, guide, and encourage all new Christians, regardless of age, as they begin their new walk with Christ.

Office, Technical, Network & Web Support
Deacon : Jeff Baskin
This ministry provides the church staff and other ministries the technology related tools to do their work smoothly and to apply technology and related resources.

Shut-ins
Deacon : Floyd Weaver
This ministry is to visit shut-in members.

Missing Sheep
Minister : Tim Alsup
This ministry provides encouragement to those who have been absent from assemblies to avail themselves of the strength that comes from worshiping God with His people.

Visiting the Visitors

This ministry provides a short welcoming visit, and typically a baked good, to new visitors of our worship services.

Silver Saints

This ministry is responsible for organizing activities with our 55+ senior members. This also includes programs at some of the local nursing homes.
