Day 3, Tuesday, October 10

Today’s thought shared by Gale Jackson…

“And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple; Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. And all the people saw him walking and praising God:”     (Acts 3:2,6,9 KJV)

On the journey to eating healthy, I have made lots of mental and physical strides, one of which is a gratitude journal for healthy eating to boost my confidence in this lifelong wellness journey.  Every day I write out something for which I am grateful on this wellness journey.  When I have days I don’t do so great on this wellness journey, then I write that I am grateful for new beginnings.  The gratitude journaling helps me continue the wellness journey.  I take my lunch to work every day as well as a fruit or sugar free Jell-O snack and there are some days that the salads are not what I want but I eat them anyway and I am always grateful that I have the salads which are healthier for me.  My coworkers often ask me what I brought for lunch which is encouraging to me.  Wherever I drive, I park away from the building to get extra steps in and this is all a part of the wellness journey.

Dear God, Thank you for all that you have done and will do in my life.  Lord, I need you to save me from the hold that food has on me.  I pray believing that with your blessings, and the strength from Jesus as well as the fruits of the Holy Spirit, that this healthy eating wellness journey will become a way of life.  Throughout this wellness journey, Father, I am learning to be patient and to lean more on your power.   In Jesus’s Name, Amen Gale Jackson
