Day 7 – Tuesday, October 9, 2018

Today’s thought is shared by Larry Jackson…

I know every morning I (we) open the newspaper, turn on the TV, look at Facebook, online news or whatever our source of finding out what is going on around us. Why do we do this? Is it the natural fear we have within us? Are we trying to build or provide a defense or a safe haven for our family from the things that are happening every day but hopefully somewhere else?

Psalms 46:10 offers us a comforting thought: “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”

The chapter tells us that he is God, the Refuge of His People and the Conqueror of the Nations.

God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. Psalms 46:2-3  tells us “Therefore we will not fear, Even though the earth be removed, And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though its waters roar and be troubled, Though the mountains shake with its swelling.”

He is indeed our comforter.

Our father who art in heaven hallowed is thy name, Forgive us of our daily sins and help clear our minds of the doubts and fears of life here on earth. We know that thou are with us in all things that we do and we pray for thy continued comfort in thy blessings. We ask this prayer in the name of Jesus thy Son, Amen.
