Today’s thought is shared by Pam McKay…
“The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” (Deuteronomy 31:8)
Have you ever observed a spider building its web? How intricately he weaves his web. It is his web and it provides his food. It can be knocked down by wind, rain or people. But he goes on and starts again. When I observe this wonder I think of my relationship with God. That silk that the spider builds its nest with is within it, never leaves it. When I became a Christian the spirt of the Lord dwells within me. As I build my web the holes in that web are times I fall short, lose my sight, even stray away but He never leaves me. As I look back no matter what has happened in my life, I have never gone without a roof over my head, food to eat and a means to provide. It has all been provided for me, proof that He has never left me. I need to remember Him, pray for forgiveness and get back to spinning my web. Through the knowledge of His love for me I can be transformed from the mindset that I will never measure up, that I keep falling short, creating those holes in my web, into someone who knows through Him I can get back up to rebuild my life. Spin a new chapter, become a better person, move forward, never growing weary. My transformation is a long, continuous journey that will follow me all the days here on earth as I strive to be a better person to glorify God in all that I do.
Dear God; Thank you Lord for always being here for me at my worst and at my best. Please help me to keep my sight on the prize you have so graciously promised if I keep your commandments and take up my cross to follow you. In Jesus Christ’s name Amen
