“Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and alms deeds which she did. Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them.” (Acts 9:36,39 KJV))
How difficult it is to define something we cannot physically see!! For I can define “window” because I can see it, I can say it is a rectangle or a square with a transparent glass where the light passes through and we can also see through it. However it is not so with love or the same word “kindness”. What we can do is define this word by comparing it to the window. We also have a spiritual window where the light of God passes through in our lives. It is essential to share the beam of light that comes from God to others, and there we can be stakeholders of kindness. The same now can be defined as a feeling that must be demonstrated to others and it is only done with good works. As Christians, each and every day we have the opportunity to show kindness, to show God´s beam through our own spiritual window. Let us always remember that kindness never walks alone, it is always accompanied by love and communion. Let us always show the love of God through good works. Galatians 6:10 (KJV) As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
Heavenly Father, please allow me to always be the spiritual window where your beam of light passes through, that we may draw near to our brethren and into your wisdom. Help us to see the needs of others so that we may show your kindness in Christ Jesus, our only Savior Amen.
