“And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.” (1 John 4:16)
“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life..” (John 3:16)
A Simple Lesson Learned From a Four Year Old…There are many lessons in life that I have learned in different places. My parents carried me to church every service that we could possibly attend. My Sunday school teachers taught me early to learn memory verses and hold them close in my heart. The youth minister taught us to date and hang out with Christians and the importance of it when choosing a mate. All of these lessons are simple yet difficult as its not always fun to be a Christian or share the Gospel. John 3:16 says “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” This verse is a verse that we grow up knowing, we learn it first, but do we ever really understand it?? Or what about I John 4:16 “And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.” Do we truly trust that God is love??? Life is hard, this world is lost. One thing for sure is that God sent his precious Son to die for us, for me, for you. God is LOVE! We know this through the word, it is my responsibility to take it, hold it, and believe it. Well my four year old niece has been learning her memory verses for Sunday School. One of the most precious sounds to my ear is to here her quote these verses and to TRULY know that God is LOVE.
My prayer is that we will be like little children, eager to learn, eager to serve, and to do these things with a happy and loving heart. Be more forgiving and Christ like. Let us be good examples to our children as they are to us.

“Y hemos conocido y creído el amor que Dios tiene hacia nosotros. Dios es amor; y el que mora en el amor mora en Dios, y Dios en él”. (1 Juan 4:16)
“Porque de tal manera amó Dios al mundo que dio a su Hijo unigénito, para que todo aquel que cree en Él no se peque, sino que tenga vida eterna. ” (Juan 3:16)
Una simple lección aprendida de un niño de cuatro años… Hay muchas lecciones en la vida que he aprendido en diferentes lugares. Mis padres me llevaron a la iglesia cada servicio al que podíamos asistir. Mis maestros de escuela dominical me enseñaron temprano a aprender versículos de memoria y a tenerlos cerca en mi corazón. El ministro de jóvenes nos enseñó a salir y pasar el rato con los cristianos y la importancia de esto al elegir un compañero. Todas estas lecciones son simples pero difíciles, ya que no siempre es divertido ser cristiano o compartir el Evangelio. Juan 3:16 dice: “Porque de tal manera amó Dios al mundo, que dio a su Hijo unigénito, para que todo aquel que cree en Él no perezca, sino que tenga vida eterna”. Este versículo es un versículo que crecemos conociendo, lo aprendemos primero, pero ¿alguna vez lo entendemosrealmente? O qué hay de I Juan 4:16 “Y hemos conocido y creído el amor que Dios tiene para nosotros. Dios es amor; y el que mora en el amor mora en Dios, y Dios en él”. ¿Confiamos verdaderamente en que Dios es amor??? La vida es dura, este mundo está perdido. Una cosa segura es que Dios envió a su precioso Hijo a morir por nosotros, por mí, por ti. ¡Dios es AMOR! Sabemos esto a través de la palabra, es mi responsabilidad tomarla, sostenerla y creerla. Bueno, mi sobrina de cuatro años ha estado aprendiendo sus versículos de memoria para la Escuela Dominical. Uno de los sonidos más preciosos para mi oído es citar aquí estos versículos y saber VERDADERAMENTE que Dios es AMOR.
Mi oración es que seamos como niños pequeños, ansiosos por aprender, ansiosos por servir y por hacer estas cosas con un corazón feliz y amoroso. Sé más perdonador y sed de Cristo. Seamos buenos ejemplos para nuestros hijos como lo son para nosotros.
