FAITH IN GOD’S GOODNESS
Psalm 33 praises God for His “goodness” or “lovingkindness.” It is a beautiful reminder that God is the very definition of what is good. Verses 4 and 5 link God’s words and work to truth, righteousness, and justice. Sadly, those who reject God struggle to define these terms, but they fail. After all, moral law—everything that is true, right, and just—can only be defined by the One who created it all. Verses 6 and 9 go on to praise God’s power over the creation that He simply spoke into existence. It is interesting how this Psalm connects God’s goodness to His work of creation, which includes giving us life. Only an all-powerful God could create and sustain us. Like Paul told the people of Athens, “In Him we live and move and have our being” (Acts 17:28). God continues to sustain us, along with all His creation. His lovingkindness even extends to the little birds (Matthew 10:29). In His goodness, my faith has a calm, restful place to live.
Dear Heavenly Father, please guide me to see your truth, your righteousness, and your justice instead of trying to rely on my own. Thank you for your beautiful creation that reminds us of your power and lovingkindness. Help me to draw closer to you and always be willing to accept your will. In Christ’s Name, Amen.

FE EN LA BONDAD DE DIOS
El Salmo 33 alaba a Dios por su “bondad” o “misericordia”. Es un hermoso recordatorio de que Dios es la definición misma de lo que es bueno. Los versículos 4 y 5 vinculan las palabras y la obra de Dios con la verdad, la rectitud y la justicia. Lamentablemente, quienes rechazan a Dios luchan por definir estos términos, pero fracasan. Después de todo, la ley moral (todo lo que es verdadero, correcto y justo) sólo puede ser definida por Aquel que lo creó todo. Los versículos 6 y 9 continúan alabando el poder de Dios sobre la creación que Él simplemente hizo existir con su palabra. Es interesante cómo este Salmo conecta la bondad de Dios con Su obra de creación, que incluye darnos vida. Sólo un Dios todopoderoso podría crearnos y sostenernos. Como Pablo le dijo al pueblo de Atenas: “En Él vivimos, nos movemos y existimos” (Hechos 17:28). Dios continúa sosteniéndonos, junto con toda su creación. Su misericordia se extiende incluso a los pajaritos (Mateo 10:29). En Su bondad, mi fe tiene un lugar tranquilo y descansado para vivir.
Querido Padre Celestial, por favor guíame para ver tu verdad, tu rectitud y tu justicia en lugar de tratar de confiar en la mía. Gracias por tu hermosa creación que nos recuerda tu poder y bondad. Ayúdame a acercarme más a ti y a estar siempre dispuesto a aceptar tu voluntad. En el nombre de Cristo, Amén.
