SMALL BIBLE STUDY GROUPS
“And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.” (Acts 2:42)

These verses indicate that the Scripture, the story of salvation through Jesus Christ, occurs anywhere, not just in church buildings. Perhaps one of the best ways to share Scripture and salvation is through small Bible study groups. Members of a small group Bible study may feel safe to ask questions or clarification of Bible teachings. Gerry and I became part of a small group Bible study in the late 1980’s in Florida, following up on a Sunday school class that had been studying Romans. We wanted to go deeper into our study, and a small group Bible study not only allows this, but it encourages this type of study. As our group continued to meet every Monday night for more than 5 years, we not only covered many Bible subjects, but we also became very close as brothers and sisters. We even vacationed together. Members meet in homes, which encourages relaxation and the ability to ask questions or make statements without feeling uncomfortable. Small groups also add the flexibility to meet at a convenient time for everyone and to meet at whatever length of time suits the group. Your group may choose to have a snack each time, or you may decide to share a meal…the beauty of a small group Bible study is the ability to customize it to the members’ choices. As we have recently begun another round of small group studies here at Great Oaks, I would encourage everyone to find a group that meets at a time and place convenient for you…your involvement will encourage your brothers and sisters in Christ, you will be encouraged, and you will grow closer to your small group members….you might even vacation with them!
Dear LORD, Thank you for your WORD that encourages us to study, to believe, to trust, to share and to love. Thank you for our ability to meet safely and to become better Bible students as well grow closer to each other as we grow closer to YOU. In CHRIST’s name, Amen.

Estos versículos indican que las Escrituras, la historia de la salvación a través de Jesucristo, ocurre en cualquier lugar, no solo en los edificios de la iglesia. Quizás una de las mejores maneras de compartir las Escrituras y la salvación es a través de pequeños grupos de estudio bíblico. Los miembros de un grupo pequeño de estudio bíblico pueden sentirse seguros para hacer preguntas o aclaraciones sobre las enseñanzas bíblicas. Gerry y yo nos convertimos en parte de un pequeño grupo de estudio bíblico a finales de la década de 1980 en Florida, siguiendo una clase de escuela dominical que había estado estudiando Romanos. Queríamos profundizar en nuestro estudio, y un estudio bíblico en grupos pequeños no solo lo permite, sino que fomenta este tipo de estudio. A medida que nuestro grupo continuó reuniéndose todos los lunes por la noche durante más de 5 años, no solo cubrimos muchos temas bíblicos, sino que también nos hicimos muy cercanos como hermanos y hermanas. Incluso vacacionamos juntos. Los miembros se reúnen en los hogares, lo que fomenta la relajación y la capacidad de hacer preguntas o hacer declaraciones sin sentirse incómodos. Los grupos pequeños también agregan la flexibilidad de reunirse en un momento conveniente para todos y de reunirse en el período de tiempo que más le convenga al grupo. Su grupo puede optar por tomar un refrigerio cada vez, o puede decidir compartir una comida… la belleza de un estudio bíblico en grupos pequeños es la capacidad de personalizarlo según las elecciones de los miembros. Como recientemente hemos comenzado otra ronda de estudios en grupos pequeños aquí en Great Oaks, animo a todos a encontrar un grupo que se reúna en un momento y lugar conveniente para ustedes… su participación animará a sus hermanos y hermanas en Cristo, será animado y se acercará más a los miembros de su grupo pequeño… ¡incluso podría vacacionar con ellos!
Amado Señor, Gracias por tu PALABRA que nos anima a estudiar, a creer, a confiar, a compartir y a amar. Gracias por nuestra capacidad de reunirnos de manera segura y convertirnos en mejores estudiantes de la Biblia, así como por acercarnos unos a otros a medida que nos acercamos más a TI.
