Day 40 of 40 Days of Prayer – November 25, 2021

Day 40          November 25, 2021        Brian Olive       Thanksgiving Day

A merry heart does good like medicine, but a broken spirit dries the bones.” (Proverbs 17:22)

I have been sick for 4 and a ½ years. I have seen many doctors and nurses. After my visits, many of them ask me how I have such a positive attitude. I tell them that when I got sick, Ramona and I decided having cancer would not be the focus of our lives. It would just be a part that we would deal with. The focus of our lives would remain on God and doing His will. Once we put all of the difficulties into His hands, the positive attitude just came naturally, and I developed an uncontrollable desire to spread it around.

You may be wondering what this has to do with generation to generation. I learned this from my father when he was fighting cancer. He faced his cancer with determination and a positive attitude. He leaned on God for support. Seeing this in him has given me the strength to do the same. And I pray I have passed this down to my daughter.

Our most kind and gracious heavenly Father. Please be with the sick and return them to health. Please be with the grieving and comfort them. Please give us all strength to face life challenges. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

(Proverbios 17:22)

He estado enfermo durante 4 años y medio. He visto a muchos médicos y enfermeras.
