One of the suggested topics for this article was -“Is there a special person God put in your life who helped you build your faith?” That person for me was my mother-in-law, Myra Martin. Just like many of the ladies here at Great Oaks, she was always doing good things for others. Even when she didn’t have the money or the energy, she had faith that God would provide the means for her to do so many good works. Even as she aged, she would still visit the sick, cook for them, call them, and pray for them. I had never seen such devotion to others before I met her. My mother-in-law set a great example of placing her faith in God to provide for her family and allow her to continue caring for others. Because of her influence, I have faith that God will take care of any problems I have. Although she passed away several years ago, I know that her faithfulness still influences Christian ladies today, especially me.
“And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.” (Matthew 21:22) “For nothing will be impossible with God” (Luke 1:37)
Dear Lord, I pray that I will cling to these verses and that my faith will increase daily because of godly women like Myra Martin. Help me when I struggle, when I falter, and when I have doubts. Help me to study faithful women in the Bible to find encouragement. In Jesus’ Name, Amen

Uno de los temas sugeridos para este artículo fue: “¿Hay alguna persona especial que Dios puso en tu vida que te ayudó a construir tu fe?” Esa persona para mí fue mi suegra, Myra Martin. Al igual que muchas de las mujeres aquí en Great Oaks, ella siempre estaba haciendo cosas buenas por los demás. Incluso cuando no tenía el dinero ni la energía, tenía fe en que Dios le proporcionaría los medios para hacer tantas buenas obras. Incluso cuando envejecía, seguía visitando a los enfermos, cocinando para ellos, llamándolos y orando por ellos. Nunca había visto tanta devoción por los demás antes de conocerla. Mi suegra dio un gran ejemplo al poner su fe en Dios para mantener a su familia y permitirle seguir cuidando a los demás. Gracias a su influencia, tengo fe en que Dios se encargará de cualquier problema que tenga. Aunque falleció hace varios años, sé que su fidelidad todavía influye en las mujeres cristianas de hoy, especialmente en mí.

Querido Señor, oro para poder aferrarme a estos versículos y que mi fe aumente diariamente gracias a mujeres piadosas como Myra Martin. Ayúdame cuando lucho, cuando flaqueo y cuando tenga dudas. Ayúdame a estudiar a las mujeres fieles en la Biblia para encontrar estímulo. En el nombre de Jesús, Amén.
