In college as a Bible student, I was assigned my first solo mission trip. Excitement mixed with uncertainty as I shared my vision with a dear friend. He excitedly offered to raise funds for me and cover the whole trip, but as the departure date loomed, my buddy totally forgot his promise and I was stuck with no funding for my trip. Yet, a flicker of faith ignited within me. Trusting God’s provision, I boarded military space-available flights bound for Samoa with no money to even buy food. Along the way, unexpected layovers led me to visit various Churches of Christ. Little did I know, God was weaving a beautiful tapestry of His faithfulness. At every stop, I shared my mission, not knowing what to expect. To my astonishment, brethren from these churches generously contributed towards my journey. Each encounter was a divine reminder that God’s grace knows no bounds. Through their support, I witnessed firsthand the power of faith in action. By the time I got to Samoa I had enough funding to last me the summer and so I spent the entire summer preaching there. This experience mirrored the disciples’ cry in Luke 17:5, “Increase our faith!” Like them, I faced uncertainty, but my steps were guided by trust in a God who provides abundantly. It’s easy to waver when faced with unexpected turns, but true faith perseveres, knowing that God is always at work behind the scenes. God used that journey to deepen my faith, teaching me that even in apparent setbacks, He is orchestrating a greater purpose. When we step out in faith, believing that God rewards those who seek Him, we open ourselves to a world of unimaginable blessings.
We thank You for being a faithful provider, even when circumstances seem uncertain. Increase our faith, Lord, that we may step out boldly, trusting in Your unwavering goodness. May our lives be a testimony to Your boundless grace. In Jesus’ holy name, Amen

En la universidad, como estudiante de la Biblia, me asignaron mi primer viaje misionero en solitario. La emoción se mezcló con la incertidumbre cuando compartí mi visión con un querido amigo. Se ofreció con entusiasmo a recaudar fondos para mí y cubrir todo el viaje, pero cuando se acercaba la fecha de salida, mi amigo olvidó por completo su promesa y me quedé sin fondos para mi viaje. Sin embargo, un destello de fe se encendió dentro de mí. Confiando en la provisión de Dios, abordé vuelos militares disponibles en el espacio con destino a Samoa sin dinero ni siquiera para comprar comida. En el camino, escalas inesperadas me llevaron a visitar varias Iglesias de Cristo. Lo que no sabía era que Dios estaba tejiendo un hermoso tapiz de Su fidelidad. En cada parada, compartí mi misión sin saber qué esperar. Para mi sorpresa, los hermanos de estas iglesias contribuyeron generosamente a mi viaje. Cada encuentro fue un recordatorio divino de que la gracia de Dios no conoce límites. Gracias a su apoyo, fui testigo de primera mano del poder de la fe en acción. Cuando llegué a Samoa tenía fondos suficientes para todo el verano, así que pasé todo el verano predicando allí. Esta experiencia reflejó el grito de los discípulos en Lucas 17:5: “¡Aumenta nuestra fe!” Como ellos, enfrenté la incertidumbre, pero mis pasos fueron guiados por la confianza en un Dios que provee en abundancia. Es fácil vacilar cuando nos enfrentamos a giros inesperados, pero la verdadera fe persevera, sabiendo que Dios siempre está obrando detrás de escena. Dios usó ese viaje para profundizar mi fe, enseñándome que incluso en aparentes contratiempos, Él está orquestando un propósito mayor. Cuando damos un paso de fe, creyendo que Dios recompensa a quienes lo buscan, nos abrimos a un mundo de bendiciones inimaginables.
Te damos gracias por ser un proveedor fiel, incluso cuando las circunstancias parecen inciertas. Aumenta nuestra fe, Señor, para que podamos salir con valentía, confiando en tu bondad inquebrantable. Que nuestras vidas sean un testimonio de Tu gracia ilimitada. En el santo nombre de Jesús, Amén.
