Each fall, our church family takes 40 Days to focus on prayer! It’s one of the best things we do all year, and we would love for you to join us in deepening our relationship with God and asking His blessing on our lives and our community.
There are 3 pieces to our 40 Days of Prayer:
- Daily Prayer Emphasis – From October 15 to November 23, we will challenge ourselves to spend more time in private prayer. We will have a daily prayer devotional, which can be accessed on our church blog, through Facebook, or in the booklet we will hand out. We encourage everyone to read the daily devotional and spend quiet time in prayer each day.
- Prayer Vigil for 24 Hours – On the Friday and Saturday of November 10-11, we will have 24 straight hours of praying through prayer requests. We will sign up for 1-hour “prayer shifts” here at the building, sometime between Friday afternoon and Saturday afternoon (yes even through the night hours!). Leading up to the prayer vigil, we will collect prayer requests from members, friends, and anyone who wants to submit them. (If you would like to submit prayer requests, click here.) We will pray through these for 24 straight hours as a congregation.
- Praying for Memphis Sunday – On November 12, we complete our “prayer weekend” (the prayer vigil is that same weekend) with a Sunday morning worship time focused on asking God to bless our community and our outreach for Him in this area. We will share a potluck lunch following the morning worship.
We hope you can join us in focusing on prayer this fall!
