Our annual “Praying for Memphis Sunday” is the finale of our 40 Days of Prayer, a 10am morning worship service in which we ask God’s blessing on our community and on our outreach. We also have our usual Bible classes for all ages at 9am, and a potluck lunch together following the 10am worship service. We would love to have you join us for the entire morning of study, worship, and fellowship!
Our theme verse for this annual Sunday is Jeremiah 29:7, where God told the Israelites who were in Babylon: “Seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf; for in its welfare you will have welfare.” (NASB) Like the Israelites who were not “home yet,” we also want to pray for our city and seek its good – especially its spiritual good – until we get home with the Lord.
“Praying for Memphis Sunday” also includes a weekend full of prayer and service opportunities. We have our 24 Hours of Prayer that Friday and Saturday, as well as a variety of ways to help others throughout the weekend. It’s always an encouraging weekend – we hope you can be part of it!
