Praying for Memphis Sunday – November 12, 2023

Join us for a Sunday focused on praying for our community!

9:00 am – Bible Classes for All Ages
10:00 am – Sunday morning worship, including a special emphasis on prayers for our community and our outreach.
11:15 am – Potluck lunch in the gym. Our members will bring a dish or two to share (no need for visitors to bring anything), and we will eat together for our last congregational potluck lunch of 2023.

Praying for Memphis Sunday has become a Great Oaks fall tradition, part of our 40 Days of Prayer, with the simple but important goal of praying for our city. The theme verse comes from Jeremiah 29:7, in which God encouraged His people to pray for the city of Babylon, where they would be for 70 years:
“Seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf; for in its welfare you will have welfare.” (Jeremiah 29:7, 1995 New American Standard version)

We also want to seek the good of our city, and pray for the city to which God has brought us, that God would bless it and help us be a blessing to those around us…
