Great Oaks Men’s Ministry is designed to help build community and faith among our men of all ages. Here are some of the activities that make up this ministry:
- Men’s Nights Out – Our men will get together about 3 times a year for a “Men’s Night Out,” which is usually eating dinner together somewhere and having a short devotional time. This gives our men the opportunity to get to know each other better and build friendships in a different context.
- Men’s Retreat – Once a year, we have a “Men’s Retreat,” which is a Friday night and Saturday morning together for fellowship, food, and faith encouragement. In the past, these have varied between ‘out-of-town’ retreats and ‘stay-in-town’ retreats. These weekends include special lessons geared toward building stronger faith in our men.
- Wednesday Night Men’s Bible Class – We also have a 7 pm Wednesday Night Men’s Class during the fall, winter, and spring months (September through May, with a break for our congregation-wide Summer Series in the summer months). Our men’s class features a variety of topics, and the teachers vary week to week, with the teaching duties often divided up among those who volunteer from within in the class.
- Thursday Morning Men’s Prayer Group – Our Thursday morning men’s prayer group meets at 7 am on Thursday mornings, for a time of sharing prayer requests and lifting them up to God together. For those who are able, the prayer time is followed by going out to breakfast together.
