Gary Reaves began serving as Great Oaks’ Involvement Minister in August 2022. Great Oaks has a long history with Gary, having overseen and supported him and his family in their Spanish-ministry and church-planting efforts for 15 years in Wisconsin, Peru, and North Carolina.
Gary and Jennifer met while both of them were in college at Freed-Hardeman University (Henderson, TN). Gary received a bachelor’s degree in Missions and a master’s degree in Ministry from FHU. After school, Gary and Jen spent a lot of time traveling the world on short term mission trips. They eventually spent 10 years with a team planting a church in Cusco, Peru, and then a few years helping plant a Hispanic congregation in Charlotte.
Gary and Jen have three sons: Logan, Brody, and Judah.
One of Gary’s favorite passages of Scripture is Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”
