Johnny began serving as an elder in November 2020. He grew up in Middleton, TN and graduated from Memphis State University in 1991. He and Donnita have been married since January 2, 1988, and they have 3 children, Allie Boggess (married to Jonah), Cate Lopera (married to Alex), and Will. They have attended Great Oaks since 2004 and Johnny has worked as a deacon over youth (grades 1-6) and as one of the deacons in charge of hospitality/fellowship. He has worked as a fireman for the City of Memphis Fire Department since November of 1993, and is currently a Lieutenant on Engine 44. Donnita has been an RN for about 10 years, and is currently an educational nurse for Takeda Pharmaceuticals.
