Wed. Summer Series – “Stopping in Samaria: Jesus and the Woman at the Well”

Tonight we continue our 2018 Wednesday Night Summer Series!  Our series theme this year is “Summer Travels,” as we study some of the best-known biblical ‘travels’ within the bigger story of God’s work in His world. Tonight’s lesson is shared by David South, preacher with the Woodland Hills (Cordova, TN) Church of Christ, entitled “Stopping in Samaria: Jesus and the Woman at the Well.”

AM – 2 Languages, 1 Faith Sunday: Keynotes from Jesus, Sin and Faith

It’s our annual “Two Languages, One Faith” Sunday, celebrating our identity as a bilingual church family!  Today, Elias and Tim bring short lessons on “Keynotes from Jesus,” concluding the theme of the Spanish-speaking seminar of this weekend.  The topics this morning: sin and faith.  Let’s consider some words of Jesus worth remembering and reflecting on…

AM – A Step of Faith

Since His life was the most world-changing life ever lived, you would think that the funeral of Jesus would have been a big event.  But it was far from big, with only a handful of people present.  In fact, it felt like a big step of faith for the two men who helped bury Jesus to even be there.  Who were these men, and what do they teach us about our own steps of faith?

AM – Celebrate: Home

Today we celebrate Great Oaks’ 25-year Homecoming!  The theme for the weekend is “celebrate.”  We studied “Celebrate: Forgiveness” in our Bible classes, a study of Jesus’ parables in Luke chapter 15.  Here in our morning sermon, we follow up the Luke 15 study with a look at what the prodigal son came back to.  What can “Celebrate: Home” tell us about God and the church?
