AM – One Last Question from Ruth and Esther: Which Path is God’s Plan for My Life?

Ruth and Esther each made big, life-shaping decisions, and God worked through their faithfulness in special ways.  When we come to our own life-shaping decisions, we sometimes wonder: “Which way does God want me to go?” or “How can I fulfill God’s plan for my life?”  Let’s consider that idea biblically, and we may find that God looks at it much simpler – but also much bigger – than we often do…

AM – When Someone is Hurting

As you study the Book of Job, several topics come up, including the question, “How do you help those who are hurting?” Job’s friends came to help him, and it didn’t exactly go well. We want to do better. After all, we serve the “God of all comfort” (2 Cor. 1:3), so we want to share His comfort with others. Using Job and his friends as a case-study of sorts, what do we learn about helping those who are hurting?

This morning we begin studying the lives of Ruth, Esther, and Job!  Their lives remind us of how God has worked in the past, helping us live with hope of God’s continued work in our own lives.  This morning, what did God do in the life of Ruth?  And what does it teach us about the way forward after tragedies and disappointments?
